As individuals we have capacities and aptitudes that make us unique, some of which are discovered and/or increased by putting them into practice. We lean towards topics and activities that we like, in which we feel comfortable or included. These capacities can be enhanced by joining them to those of other people, when we join a group or team. That is when we give voice to our opinion, we seek participation and collaboration for a common project.
To achieve an efficient team requires the participation of all members, knowing how to listen and receive opinions and having a willingness to carry out the decisions and agreements reached. Knowing that the participation of each one is equally important, which is why an environment of trust must be fostered, in which everyone feels integrated and can express themselves, and know that although their opinion will not always be the same, it will be possible to reach agreements that will allow them to continue being a successful team in the projects to come.
To work as a team, it is necessary to assume commitments, have creativity, responsibility, work in harmony with others and have a spirit of improvement. The figure of the leader is also necessary, who is in charge of combining criteria, coordinating activities and ensuring that the team walks in harmony. the same direction.
Since we started the school stage we are integrated into a group, and we have the first experiences in terms of participation and collaboration. Teamwork identifies us as individuals with diverse abilities and motivations but with a common goal. For example, in a soccer team or another sport, there will be players with different qualities and personalities, but what unites them is the passion for that sport and wanting a better position or the championship, that motivates them to work together, to respect the decisions of the leader and to contribute the best of each person. It is essential that all members know the objective and the deadline (if any) they have to achieve it, so that they can work in a productive and balanced manner. Something that drives each person to give their best within a team is the sense of belonging, since when they feel integrated they will give their maximum effort to achieve the objectives, and it also becomes a key factor for other areas of our lives, since an individual who used to have an introverted personality, can discover himself as someone more open and participatory when he feels that his opinion is taken into account within a group.
The results will always be better in teams whose main characteristics are harmony, respect, and communication. Most people like to feel part of something, and this is why a decisive aspect of teamwork is generating a common identity and ensuring that values and vision are shared. And make the differences an opportunity to achieve a more versatile team with a broader perspective, but that does not lose sight of what you want to achieve.
